I love this band!
At the moment my favourite song by them is "All down the Line"
I have their Exile on Main St CD in my car and listen to it all the time.
I think a lot of their music starts as instrumentals - with guide gibberish lyrics at the start - but gradually evolves until the final vocals are laid down.

Yeah. The gibberish lyrics at the start always make me wonder why they use nonsense...instead of normal lyrics.

Great group but back in the day I was always a more of a Beatles fan - less challenging. Looking back on them they were so well groomed too - the Stones were always that bit wilder. Was only discussing with a friend the other day how back then the world seemed to divide into 2 camps, those that adored the Stones and those mad for the Beatles. And of course then there were the parents (who of course were not part of the world at all) and found both groups an abomination.
Saw the Stones on TV the other night and it has to be said they have kept themselves pretty fit!

I never really cared for the Stones that much, but undoubtedly they were some of the most key musicians in developing Rock, and it's hard to deny their talent. They were a pretty good band.

They were certainly cutting edge in their day and are still able to produce a pretty good sound imo though I wouldn't go out of my way to hear them. They have maintained their stage presence too, compared with many groups of their generation, they were on TV a few weeks ago and I was impressed. They had amazing energy and very much their old 'look'. I didn't have that much energy 40yrs ago let alone now!
