So I'm just wondering--What would everybody think of letting non-members post?? Just in the music, not general discussion areas.
Pros-could increase activity A LOT. If you haven't noticed, we get a lot of guests--okay, so most of them are probably spiders, but we must get some human traffic, and letting them drop by and leave a comment might be a good idea.
cons--Spam, trolling, ect. Might encourage drama, if a person has an alter-ego guest. You can imagine. Some--not all but some--of these issues can be resolved with a plugin.
As a forum we would have to be very good about reporting anything that might need staff attention. Also, I may appoint a few "monitors" who are different from moderators because all they do is hide stuff until a Mod or Admin can show up and take care of it.
So what do you think??

Good Question. is there a way you could ban guests? And I like the monitor idea.

BTW, we have now allowed guest posting, and opinions about this can be posted in the new thread discussing this.

I've never allowed guests to post on my site(s) as you can't moderate them and it could be anyone posting, including bots and spammers.

With proboards you can moderate them, by banning the IP.
